A regional grid area experienced growing peak demand during winter months. Electrification of transport and heating increased pressure on the local grid, especially during short peak periods.

THE APPROACH

GridCore worked with the local DSO and municipality to identify a suitable location close to an existing grid connection. A battery energy storage system was developed to provide fast, local flexibility during peak periods.

THE Result

The storage site supports grid stability during high-load situations and reduces pressure on existing infrastructure. It enables continued local electrification without immediate grid reinforcement.
